Yes, but that may entail making a choice between shutting your mouth and getting by vs. saying what is right and risking the thought police coming for you. 10 years ago you would have told me I was a conspiracy nut, but there is now abundant examples, and evidence to the contrary.

Wrongthink is of course an impediment to the psychotic empire building and domestic control required for its continuation. I expect it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

It doesn’t have to get worse and certainly, each individual can hopefully choose the level in which one participates in the “worseness” by opting into better circles of friends.

I remember watching a video of Byron Katie doing The Work with someone who was terrified that Trump was going to start a nuclear war. This woman was completely paralyzed with anxiety. Katie said, "who's starting a nuclear war?" And the woman had to concede that it was she, over and over again, starting a nuclear war.

I, too, have a memory of the spectacular clarity of the sky that day. And another day, over 15 years before, another sky of stunning blue, full of curling smoke from the Challenger. The dust settles, and we try to stir it up again, and again, and to what end?
