Schools in PG County, MD have gone back to virtual and holdout lefty counties around the country are reintroducing mask mandates.
I feel like I'm watching that scene in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" where the drivers are trying to warn John Candy that he's "going-the-wrong-way.” He mocks them by gesturing that they are drinking and rolls his eyes at them. He says to Steve Martin, "Oh, he’s drunk. How would he know where we’re going?"
It's like that scene on repeat, all day every day when I turn on the news.
The hubris filled minions on the left have run the country off the road over and over, but keep getting on the road going the wrong way again like it’s the only way to go. Each time, they become more incredulous and more exaggerated in their mockery of anyone who would warn them. It’s like for them, the wrong way is inevitable. It really does seem like watching a movie that plays out. You rewind it, but it just plays back the same.
Maybe they’re right. Maybe we just haven’t understood what they are driving at. Maybe heading toward the two big rigs is intentional. Like they keep reminding us, the top scientific researchers, media and government think tanks are on their side. At this point, what else can one assume?
Maybe we are living in some giant hologram. Maybe we’re all playing our part. We keep warning. They keep crashing. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Maybe Ned Ryerson was actually taking the only high road in such a situation or maybe he was the only non-NPC in “Groundhog Day.” Like, maybe he’s just an epic troll, and one we can all take a lesson from. Wait until just after they step in it every day to warn them, “Watch out for that first step, it’s a doozy.”
