I’m going to start a little journal called “What’s In My Cup?” It’ll be tacked on to every post I make.
Now, I have to say with sadness, I recently lost a “cauldron.” It was a workhorse. Lasted nearly 4 years of 4-5 uses per day! I had to replace her this week with a new one. I took advantage of this steal on Amazon. I am proud to introduce, “Cozy” my new cauldron.
And I’ll tell you why I bought her. Besides having, one for a few years from a sister brand and this one having fantastic reviews, I bought it because only glass and stainless steel touch my water. Unfortunately because the top of my last kettle had a stainless steel band and pour spout, after a solid 4+ years of constant use, the seal to the glass seems to have degraded, causing it to leak whatever amount of condensation happened at the top of the kettle down the front. It wasn’t a lot, but I thought buying one with a glass pitcher spout and a steel screen would keep me in business a few years longer (considering I don’t accidentally knock it off the counter like I did with my first beloved cauldron). So far, my only issue is having to leave the lid open after heating water and pouring so that the water doesn’t condensate (condense??) on the glass after each use.
FYI-I only ever put distilled water in my kettle. I got the best Christmas gift ever this year from Aaron. I have my own countertop distiller. We can talk about that later.
The next item on my “What’s In My Cup?” list is my “pestle.”
This little bad ass has been kicking butt and taking names in our house for several years. I bought it for Aaron so he could get his own fancy, whole bean organic coffee and grind it for himself. Some of the good coffees only come whole bean. However, it’s mostly mine now as I started using it for dry herbs and spices. My world has never been the same.
So, what IS in my cup? you may be asking.
Today, I have mixed 3 Fates Magic Rest, Reset and Restore tea blend ground to powder in my pestle*, also, about a quarter teaspoon of her Melita honey (not listed on site, message 3 Fates Magic for details), a pinch of ancho chile powder, pestle* ground, long pepper (which is my new favorite spice because it makes my armpits smell like perfumed incense when I sweat) and Four Sigmatic Balance adaptogenic blend, mushroom powder which I purchase from Thrive Market. If you use my link for your Thrive membership, you get 40% off your first order, and I will get a $40 credit to my monthly grocery bill. I add a splash of NutPods Toasted Marshmallow unsweetened, non dairy creamer to top it off. Most grocers carry it locally.
I chose this blend today because I have been dealing with a migraine the past day or so. I woke up this morning feeling better, but wanted to stay with the detox regimen that helped me banish it (like a magic spell) to the pits of hell from whence it arose. (I slept wrong and wasn’t eating impeccably either.)
Anyway, although it’s a warm tea on a hot day, many of the ingredients are internally cooling. You may even consider pouring this hot beverage over ice, skip the boba and save on one of those expensive tea huts that put unhealthy crap in your body for way too much of your hard earned dough.
Keep your eyes peeled for future beverages shared at the end of my posts!
