Many of you may know that I recently hosted my first ever Find Your Tribe Workshop. It was the best thing I ever did in my life so far.
What you didn’t know was how absolutely terrifying it was to put that course out into the public eye for scrutiny.
I was so terrified, I felt a similar exhaustion the week of the course being brought into the world to being pregnant and having a baby. I was inexplicably tired every day until the day after it was all over. I kept telling Aaron, I had this sense of like running a long race and then laying down in the grass at the finish line on my back, looking up in the clouds and panting with relief it was finally over- but I couldn’t. I could lay down in the grass or stop running because it wasn’t my body doing the doing. It was my brain. I was just thinking the fuck out of this thing.
The one thing I was never afraid of, though, was how I looked, how I sounded, whether my video was glitching or any other camera/technical issues. If I had felt insecure about my video and whatnot coming across as unprofessional on top of all my other insecurities and stresses about the course content, there’s no way I would have had the confidence in myself to make this happen. Never. I wouldn’t have done it.
I did not need that one more thing holding me back from teaching a course that had never been done before.
What I built my singular sense of video presenting competence on was my work with Adrian Salisbury.
Last year, knowing I wanted to teach live online, I signed up for Adrian Salisbury’s Pro Video Academy. I bought my video equipment kit through his course and he gave me the step-by-step instructions to get everything working. Next, I signed up for his Ecamm Live streaming course. Through Ecamm Live training, I got so much feedback from other students of his, learned so many tools and got to practice in the group with all the tools and equipment he shared.
Well, Ecamm Live training is coming up again this year in October. If you have been wanting to do live streaming, if you have a course or information to get out to your community or the world at large, that can be a BIG, SCARY thing! I would hate for you to be further held up by any sense that you didn’t have the right training, the right equipment, sufficient practice or an easy to use platform.
For Mac Users out there, I am happy to share the opportunity with you I took last year to join Adrian’s Ecamm Live training this October so you feel more competent speaking live and then to be able to share your light with your audience with confidence. You will never regret this, and the world needs you as bright and shiny, being as competent and feeling as confident as you can be!
