I have lost the decorum for diplomacy.

The reason to argue is to avoid violence. But to argue, one must assume both parties are willing to correct their thoughts in light of evidence and research.

I have done a tiresome amount of research, and so I have also had a tiresome amount of online arguments. Most of them went nowhere because I held a false assumption that the other party cares about being correct or getting any closer to discovering what is true.

I know it’s a shocking, sobering revelation to grasp that everyone who appears to want to be right on the internet and in life in general usually doesn’t give two fucks for being correct.

I have come to realize that this whole line of “the burden of proof is on…” bullshit is tired and weak. It’s an ego grasping at farts in the wind.

The burden of TRUTH is on everyone who cares about the truth to do their homework and find out if what they believe is any more evidence based than what other people believe. One can only do this for oneself. No one can impose knowledge upon a closed mind.

If they want to put that burden only on someone who disagrees with them and disrupts their applecart of safe haven, socially approved thoughts of the sick, stupid, circle jerk society rather than to do the searching and investigating to discover whether or not their own ideas hold water, they probably don’t give two shits about knowing the truth or really even about being correct. They will suffice with feeling superior on the internet without learning anything because it’s easy. They know all too well that the truth cannot be discovered this way. So, they are asking a single-syllable, rhetorical question that takes negligible effort and in so doing, admitting they have no desire to study. You have to study to learn. Anyone with kids or who has taught kids knows this.

Knowledge is never easy, but for many, it’s worth it.

I have come to the age wherein I find myself too old, too tired, too irritated and too flatulent to deal with with the latter group imposing their homework on others just so they can have something to deny and argue with- ultimately, so they don’t have to learn anything.

I don’t need any more gas.

“Source?” is the most patently retarded thing on the internet. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that knowing a thing never boils down to a single source but rather years of research and the meticulous combing over countless resources to that end.

Feel free to copy and paste this wherever you find it applicable to give yourself an out when suffering retards is at stake.
