This quote echoed through my mind today as I considered an array of technical issues I have dealt with since I purchased a very expensive rig for doing video recording nearly two years ago.
It seems, I have been hit with one issue after another, one impediment after another to making a clean audio/video recording. After recording what I consider to be my best broadcast on well being to date this week, I went to play it back and there are a cluster of issues to edit in order to bring this show to public. It’s all (what was it they called it when Janet Jackson intentionally exposed her breast during the Superbowl Half Time Show? Wardrobe Malfunction?) what I would call technical malfunctions, and they are anything but intentional.
I was reminded by Fearless Leader of EBA, Starr O’Hara that the planet Mercury is in retrograde right now so that can cause glitches. But this kit has been nothing but glitches for two years. I had a back up, brand-new-in-box, video capture card on hand last week and did the replacement right before I hit record and it STILL glitched throughout my recording. I can’t be more prepared to do this, and have it all keep going to shit. Arg! Frustration!
Going to have to start considering that it’s not the video capture cards but rather, the fucking Mac Mini ports or something else with that Mini that makes it too weak to handle my videos.
Anyway, if any of you are the kind of tech wizards who follow my broadcast and want to see if you can help me figure this out, fantastic!
Otherwise, I’m going to be working on two other goals for the next 90 days.
While I appreciate a challenge, my ideal life isn’t a never ending uphill battle. It’s one of peaks and valleys, and unlike the game Chutes and Ladders, in my ideal life, I enjoy the occasional lazy river ride or the curves of sliding down a curvy sledding slope, a thrilling water slide or a good old fashioned plunge off the diving board. Going down isn’t always sliding backwards. Sometimes it’s just surrendering to the pull of gravity and enjoying as it carries you forward, effortlessly and quickly.
One of my goals for the next 90 days is to go through the 22 videos I have recorded so far and find tasty bits in there to cook into hot reels, TikToks and shorts since the attention span of the average person is now the size of a flea. I’ll use that to promote the show through the Fall and come back in January, hopefully with my recording issues sorted with the second part of the season and a much larger audience.
My second focus is that I am going to finally be turning my boundary course, “Say ‘Yes’ To Boundaries” into a workbook. I did writing on the course in this blog, but it will be getting some structure and nuance. Then, it will be published on Amazon as a book that you can take notes in as you go. I’m hoping to have it out for purchase by Christmas ‘23 so you can gift a copy to anyone you love who is struggling with the gargantuan conundrum of saying “no” or who may have a good idea of the life they desire but whose life experience up to now is not looking anything like their vision boards. This book aims to help these people hone in on making their dreams come true through streamlining their relationships, building tribe and cutting the dead weight which I touched on in the first chapters of my first book, Autobiography Of A Nobody. It is currently available on Amazon. Link provided is an affiliate link, and it’s my book so obviously, I will make a meager commission off any purchases via this link. Thank you for your purchase!
If you can help with tech stuff OR are interested in being on a waiting list for my new book, contact TheSovereignMom@gmail.com to let me know.
Surprised you didn't ask me. Let me know if I can help.
