As a former anarchist, I’m embarrassed to point out how much time I spent explaining how useless voting is, particularly in national elections and such. I could almost say that voting is merely a fart in the wind.
Being that this is the case, and I do believe it is, there is such an upset among anarchists and their personal venom towards those who do vote. I admit to spending an inordinate amount of effort as an anarchist rattling the cage (I refused to acknowledge existed) trying to get people to stop voting.
But even farts can have some selected effects, ironically primarily, to anarchists who seem to position themselves directly downwind.
And that’s the thing really. If it truly doesn’t matter, if other people’s choices are truly their own business as so many anarchists like to say when leftists fuck up the collective culture we all live in, why would anyone who believes that be so wrapped up in stopping people from voting?
“You don’t understand! Voting is forcing your will on other people, Karen! Voting is violence! These statists (cue villain music) are perpetrating their violence against me!”
See, that’s just silly. Anarchy 101 says I’m not going to obey anything they vote to have me do, so why should I care?
“People will make it a law and then the police get involved and have a reason to harm me!”
But Anarchy 102 says, police are there to harm me regardless of laws. They don’t obey the laws, the police and ruling class. They make their own laws and are above the laws reigning their enforcements regardless of laws and based on personal prejudice and preferences which is why we rail against them.
If we believed in some form of “natural law” then anyone enforcing it, be it a privately hired police force or whatever, would be enforcing moral laws and would be acting in accordance with the alleged NAP or Golden Rule by said enforcement.
This brings me back to Anarchy 101. I’m not going to obey so if I live my life as mind-my-own-businessy as anarchists claim to do, it likely would be unbeknownst to most law enforcement that I chose to break said law.
“But what about masks and Covid? It was hard to not wear a mask and not be noticed.”
Ok, but was it primarily police and state officials and various laws enforcing the mask mandates, or was it primarily independent people and private businesses taking it upon themselves to create a culture of enforcement with little to no government intervention?
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Culture is all that matters. Mind your business when it matters. Stand up to bullies when it matters, even in private businesses. Stand against a culture of depravity which always matters. Fart in the wind if you feel like it.
Whichever administration is in charge of the federal government may make some slight differences to your personal life. Probably undetectable. It’s especially undetectable if you stand up when you should by not acknowledging bullshit laws.
It has always seemed to me that the primary detection or perception of said differences is in the eyes of the beholder. People imagine things are better for them with their guy at the helm.
But is that true?
People let their guards down when their own favorite person is in office. So, effectually, more of the things you care about will be trampled when your own guy is in office. Care about 2A? Most of the people you elect to protect your precious 2A will be the more likely to whittle it away with “common sense” databases, red flag laws, bans for modifications and such.
Let your guard down with anyone in government (and society), and in many cases, they’ll trample you. All those “rights” you believe you have are only as good as your willingness to uphold them regardless of laws and attempted enforcements. Your vigilance is all that matters.
But the main point here is to myself. I’m no longer positioning myself downwind. If other people want to vote, that is something that is of little to no detectable concern to me outside the frenzy and hysteria started and during said election term causing a culture of fear and shock and horror at the lengths mesmerized humans will go to manifest their least desired outcome (as observed in the case of 2A). I play into this culture of depravity when I pretend that any of this voting matters to me. While we can’t avoid culture or the effects of mass hysteria in our daily lives, we can stop telling ourselves that voting is violence as it is the least violent thing brainwashed hysterics do to one another in the real world.
Position yourself in the wind accordingly.
